Changzhou University (CZU) is a public university located in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China. It was established in 1978 and has two campuses in Wujin and Xinbei districts. It is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Government, and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). CZU is a comprehensive university with distinctive features in engineering, science, management, and humanities.
CZU offers a variety of academic programs at different levels, including four primary disciplines that confer doctoral degrees, 23 secondary disciplines that confer doctoral degrees, 13 professional doctoral programs, 28 primary disciplines that confer master’s degrees, 153 secondary disciplines that confer master’s degrees, 24 professional master’s programs, and 87 undergraduate programs. CZU has about 1,800 full-time faculty members, including 500 professors and associate professors, and more than 1,200 teachers with master’s or doctoral degrees. CZU also has 10 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 12 Cheung Kong Scholars and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, and 11 national experts with outstanding contributions.
CZU has about 30,000 undergraduate students and 4,000 postgraduate students from 31 provinces and municipalities across China.
