Jingdezhen Ceramic University (JCU) is the only multi-disciplinary institution of higher learning in China that is name after ceramics. It is one of the first 31universities that have independent undergraduate programs in art and one of the 94 colleges and universities are qualified to grant Chinese government scholarship to oversea students in China. It is one of the university designated to cultivate outstanding engineers by Ministry of Education of China, a Model University of Reforming Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, one of the first participating universities of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage inheritors Training Program by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a National Model University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and one of the first pilot Universities of Transformation and Development. Over the past 110 years’ development, it has become an important national and even global base for training ceramic talents, innovating ceramic technology and exchanging ceramic culture and art.

景德镇陶瓷大学是全国唯一一所以陶瓷命名的多科性大学，是全国首批31所独立设置的本科艺术院校之一、94所具有资格招收中国政府奖学金来华留学生的高校之一，是教育部卓越工程师教育培养计划高校、教育部深化创新创业教育改革示范高校、文化和旅游部中国非物质文化遗产传承人群研修研习培训计划首批参与院校、全国创新创业典型经验高校和首批转型发展试点院校，现已发展成为全国乃至世界陶瓷人才培养、陶瓷科技创新和陶瓷文化艺术交流的重要基地。

Jingdezhen Ceramic University is located in the first batch of national historical and cultural city in Jiangxi province. Now there are Xianghu Campus, Xinchang Campus, China Light Industry Ceramics Research Institute and Sanbao Ceramics Research and Training Garden, covering an area of 2265 mu, with a building area of nearly 750,000 square meters. There are 11 teaching schools (departments), including School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Ceramic Art, School of Design and Art, School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, School of Management and Economics, School of Information and Engineering, School of International Studies, Art and Archaeology School, School of Marxism, Law School, Sports and Military Education Department. Besides there are Graduate School,School of Chuangye, School of Continuing Education and College of International Education. There are more than 20,000 full-time students, including nearly 2,000 postgraduates and doctoral students.

学校坐落于首批国家历史文化名城——江西省景德镇市，现有湘湖校区、新厂校区及中国轻工业陶瓷研究所、三宝陶艺研修苑，占地面积1970亩，校舍建筑面积75.8万平方米，设有材料科学与工程学院、美术学院、设计艺术学院、机械电子工程学院、管理与经济学院、信息工程学院、外国语学院、考古文博学院、体育与军事教学部、法学系、马克思主义学院、科技艺术学院等12个教学学院（部、系）及研究生院、创业学院、继续教育学院和国际学院，全日制在校生2万余人，其中，硕士研究生、博士研究生2200余人。

The university gives full play to its unique academic and professional advantages and acts as the messenger of fine traditional Chinese culture. On behalf of the country, it has successively held high-level ceramic art works exhibitions of teachers and students in important places such as the Louvre in France, the Greek Asian Museum, the Grand Palace in France and the United Nations Headquarters in New York, spreading the profound Chinese ceramic culture and ceramic art to all parts of the world. In recent years, JCU has comprehensively deepened mutual learning, inclusiveness and connectivity with other parts of the world in the field of ceramic education.As the leading unit, JCU has initiated the establishment of “The Ceramic Road” International Ceramic Education Alliance , jointly created a new platform for foreign cultural exchange of “Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale” with the Jingdezhen Municipal People’s government, China Foreign Cultural Group and International Academy of Ceramics, and hosted more than 20 international academic seminars (forums) on ceramic engineering, ceramic art, ceramic culture and ceramic education.The university has been successfully approved as Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange and Training Base in the field of Intelligent Manufacturing by the Ministry of Education, and has been selected as a member unit of the China-Europe Alliance for Humanities and Arts Education. JCU has established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 30 colleges and universities in the USA, UK, France, Japan and South Korea and other countries and regions, with sending teachers to give lectures, students to study and visit, and joint training of talents. It has successively trained more than 3,000 international students from nearly 60 countries and regions on all continents.

学校充分发挥独特的学科专业优势，自觉担当起中华民族传统文化的传播使者，先后代表国家在法国卢浮宫、希腊亚洲博物馆、法国大皇宫、纽约联合国总部等重要场所举办高水平的师生陶瓷艺术作品展，将博大精深的中华陶瓷文化和陶瓷艺术传播到世界各地。近年来，学校全面深化与世界各地在陶瓷教育领域的互鉴互容互通，作为牵头单位发起成立“一带一路”国际陶瓷教育联盟，与景德镇市人民政府、中国对外文化集团、国际陶艺学会共同打造了“景德镇国际陶瓷艺术双年展”对外文化交流新平台,主办陶瓷工程、陶瓷艺术、陶瓷文化、陶瓷教育类国际学术研讨会（论坛）20余场次。学校成功获批教育部智能制造领域中外人文交流培养基地。与美国、英国、韩国等国家或地区30多所高校建立校际友好合作关系，互派教师讲学、互派学生修学访问、联合培养人才，先后培养了来自各大洲近60个国家的3000余名留学生。
