Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) is a public university located in Zigong, Sichuan, China. It was founded in 1965 and has three campuses in Yibin, Huidong, and Longhua. It is affiliated with the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and co-sponsored by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND) and the Sichuan Provincial Government. SUSE is one of the key universities supported by the Foundation Ability Construction Project for China’s Middle West Universities and the Model Scientific Research Institution of Provincial High and New Technology Industry.
SUSE offers a wide range of academic programs in engineering, science, management, economy, law, literature, art, education, and history. It has four primary disciplines that offer master’s degrees, 30 secondary disciplines that offer master’s degrees, two professional master’s programs, and 74 undergraduate programs. SUSE has about 2,000 full-time faculty members, including 700 professors and associate professors, and about 1,000 teachers with master’s or doctoral degrees. SUSE also has about 100 adjunct professors and guest professors, including four academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and six Cheung Kong Scholars and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund.
SUSE has about 29,000 undergraduate students and 600 postgraduate students from over 23 provinces and municipalities across China. SUSE is committed to serving the local economic and social development, and has established extensive cooperation with local governments and enterprises in various fields. SUSE has undertaken more than 2,200 scientific programs and has achieved remarkable results in research and innovation. SUSE has also been actively involved in international exchange and cooperation, and has established partnerships with universities and institutions in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions.
